It's sad that the Zuni have not preserved the customs, language, mythology and rituals of their ancestors. The Zuni should attempt to regain their past for the good of posterity. I would recommend you read Frank Hamilton Cushing's "Selected Writings". He was a pioneer American ethnologist and anthropologist. He lived several years with the Zuni and wrote about it. He respected the Zuni and loved their culture. Another excellent book about the Zuni is Barbara Tedlock's "The Beautiful and the Dangerous".
